Just curious about the history of some of these teams. Is Havok really Practice Squad? Why are the Ligers and Grand Hustle in novice when they have been playing for more than one season?

Dont` know about Havok, but Ligers and Grand Hustle are still in novice because, well, they are truly novice teams. Not trying to be a ****, but neither of those teams could be competitive right now in Open. Novice is not just for teams new to the league, but also for teams that are not ready for the competition of Open or A/B.

of the teams in Open A/B as you put it aren`t ready to be there either. So whats your point?

We jumped out there in the fall of last year in the Maryland league.. the MD novice never took off so we were stuck playing all true A level talen.

We moved to the Open league in the fall and couldnt build any continuity with personnel and personality until mid season... and here we are now... still working on getting things right.

The IFFL is definitely different from any flag league I`ve played in as its a passing league.. much better for us older cats! It definitely takes getting used to.

Some teams in novice are truely new teams to the league and others are teams that are guys from multiple teams trying to build team chemistry.

As for as the Ligers, our first season playing flag football was last spring (2008) where we played in the open division. We were extremely over matched, not winning a game.

We played the fall season in the novice division and felt more competitive. This season is actually the first season playing in the spring novice division. We still need to build chemistry within our team.

Don`t forget you actually didn`t even score a point that first season.

Way to stick with it. A lot of teams would`ve folded after not winning a game their first season. Keep building and Good job!

Just imagine if you were a brand new team, and your schedule included: D.M., Sharks, Bad Boyz, Vegas Nights, Playmakers. Not the best way to build team confidence moving forward, and I applaud Scott for not only keeping Grand Hustle together as a team, but improving it.

Trick1 is going through the same "baptism" this Spring. I think this Fall we`ll try to run a Novice-only league in Maryland.

tnt is a novice we have 3 experienced members and the reset are rookies such as myself but i am enjoying the league a lot of fun., TNT=Team N Training

Grand Hustle = smashed weekly in open.

We are a new team to the league also. It takes time to build team chemistry. Grand Hustle is a good team from what I have seen. But we are all in Novice for a reason!
